individual therapy
Psychotherapy can result in a variety of outcomes and learnings such as skills to manage emotions and alleviate distress, perspectives for increasing self-awareness, and support during a crisis. Together, we can determine what is most appropriate for you.
-
This is a 15-minute initial consultation over the phone with no commitment. This will give you a chance to describe what you are looking for, and determine whether I am the right person to help you. You can also ask any questions you may have and I will explain how I work, my rates and my availability.
-
In order to help you, I draw from a variety of therapeutic frameworks including EFT - Emotionally Focused Therapy; IFS - Internal Family Systems; CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Attachment Theory, and Family Systems Theory. In all of my work, I endeavour to be trauma-informed and to approach with compassion and curiosity.
Overall, I work from a systems perspective. I seek to understand you within your unique context and how that context continues to shape who you are. This means I take into consideration not just your personality, but also the family in which you were raised, the culture in which you grew up, your faith/spirituality, as well as major life experiences, and any other contributing factors to your story.
Collaboratively, we will identify what you would like to see changed in your life, and create therapeutic goals to guide our time together. I am comfortable integrating faith/spirituality into my practice.
